  2. Unbolt the battery tie-down bracket and remove it. Unbolt the battery tie-down bracket and remove it. Unbolt the battery tie-down bracket and remove it.

  3. Remove the battery, heat shield and unbolt the lower battery tray. Remove the battery, heat shield and unbolt the lower battery tray. Remove the battery, heat shield and unbolt the lower battery tray.

  4. Loosen the intake tube clamp, slide it off of the airbox and then unplug the MAF sensor. Loosen the intake tube clamp, slide it off of the airbox and then unplug the MAF sensor. Loosen the intake tube clamp, slide it off of the airbox and then unplug the MAF sensor.
    • Loosen the intake tube clamp, slide it off of the airbox and then unplug the MAF sensor.

  5. Remove the wire harness from the airbox. Remove the wire harness from the airbox.
    • Remove the wire harness from the airbox.

  6. Unscrew the upper airbox lid. There are four screws that hold it in place.

  7. Remove the lower airbox base by unbolting the 10mm mounting bolts. Pull the airbox up and remove it from the engine bay. Pull the airbox up and remove it from the engine bay.
    • Remove the lower airbox base by unbolting the 10mm mounting bolts.

    • Pull the airbox up and remove it from the engine bay.

  8. Locate the reverse solenoid on the top of the transmission and unplug the green connector. Locate the reverse solenoid on the top of the transmission and unplug the green connector.
    • Locate the reverse solenoid on the top of the transmission and unplug the green connector.

  9. Locate both detent springs. There is one on the front of the transmission gear selector and one on the side.
    • Locate both detent springs.

    • The one on the side is down near the base of the transmission mount.

  10. Remove the detent bolt and spring and set aside.
    • Remove the detent bolt and spring and set aside.

  11. Remove the wire harness mounting bolt on holding on the harness bracket. Remove the detent bolt and spring and set aside. Remove the detent bolt and spring and set aside.
    • Remove the wire harness mounting bolt on holding on the harness bracket.

    • Remove the detent bolt and spring and set aside.

  12. Compare the stock springs with the HR springs. Incstall them accordingly into the bolts. Compare the stock springs with the HR springs. Incstall them accordingly into the bolts. Compare the stock springs with the HR springs. Incstall them accordingly into the bolts.
    • Compare the stock springs with the HR springs. Incstall them accordingly into the bolts.

  13. Reinstall both springs into the transmission. Be sure to check and make sure you can shift into every gear without issue.
    • Reinstall both springs into the transmission.

    • Reassemble the car following these steps in reverse.

Heads up!! For the 2020 Si Sedan, there is a third bolt for the intake on the bottom of the car. You need to remove the bumper and undertray to get to it. Also, although you can do it that way, my hands were small enough to squeeze around the intake box and start wrenching at the 2 bolts for the springs. The one on the side of the transmission is next to the trans mount itself. You need a spanner or preferably a ratcheting spanner to get to that one. But the overall feel of the transmission is now AWESOME!! Be warned, your 4 screws for your intake box are EXTREMELY brittle. I do not know what Honda was smoking when they put such crap screws to hold down the top of the intake box. I broke 2 of them and replaced the screws with stronger ones from Home Depot. If you have small hands, this job becomes even easier. Good luck and enjoy!!
