Start by disconnecting the MAF sensor connector. Push down on the clip and slide off to disconnect.

With a pair of needle nose pliers, squeeze the wire harness clip together while also pulling it away from the housing. Move the wiring out of the way.

With a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the cotter pin from the top of the large cable bushing.

Remove the top metal shim.

With a flat tip screw driver, pry the metal insert out of the OEM rubber bushing.

Be careful not to twist or bend the cable in any extreme position. This can permanently damage the shifter cable.

Is it possible to do this from the underside instead of removing the air box?

The retaining clip helps keep the bushing from moving without it you will have some slop in the cable. If you need a replacement feel free to reach out to us and we can get you one shipped out.
