Begin by determining which shifter cable insert you'll need to use on the transmission.
-
In this cable set, you will find two sized inserts.
-
Depending on the year the transmission was built it will use one of the two.
-
The insert should slide on the transmission gear selector pin and should have no slack.
-
-
-
Install the shifter cable insert that fits your transmission and use the supplied retaining clip to keep it in place.
-
Install the shifter cable end link to the gear selector and make sure you have the big end of the insert sitting flat against the gear selector. If the retaining clip is on the bottom it can freeze and bend the cable, preventing it from moving.
-
Install the shifter cable to into the cable bracket, using a spring C clip.
-
-
-
Install the remaining shifter cable onto the gear selector and use the supplied clip to keep it in place.
-
Then, install the cable in the bracket and lock it in place using a spring C clip.
-
-
-
The cables should be completely connected to the transmission at this point.
-
-
-
Connect the shifter cable to the TSX shifter by sliding it through he cable hole.
-
Once the cable is in the shifter, you can clip the end link in place.
-
Use a spring C clip to hold the cable to the shifter.
-
-
-
Now install the other cable in the same way as the previous cable. Use the supplied clip and attach it to the shifter arm.
-
-
-
The cables are now installed. Depending on the application, be sure to keep the cables away from all heat sources.
