Very hard to shift into gears after instatllation

I feel as If I use an uncomfortable amount of force to throw the car into 1-6th gear as well as reverse. Before I installed the short shifter It went into all the gears without any hitch and not as much force. Should I have lubricated the short shifter in the installation? Do I need to get new shifter cable bearings? Thanks.

Options

There is no need to lubricate the shifter in any way. There are a number of different reasons why you could be having trouble getting into gear. Please send our support team an email for further help with this.
