How to ground fuel pump properly when using non-OEM hanger?

I had a question for you guys, so I’m doing a k20a2 swap on my 99 ek civic and I got your guys fuel pump (335) all set up and I am running a aftermarket hanger kit that converts to AN fittings. So I have the plug hooked up to the pump and the red and black wires coming out. can I splice both ground wires together outside the tank and run a exterior ground or do I need a ground on the outside and inside of the tank like the factory setup?
Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

At Hybrid Racing, our stance aligns strongly with Honda's original engineering design principles. In this design, the fuel pump is grounded to the hanger, establishing a dual grounding system within the fuel tank. This arrangement significantly reduces the chance of sparking, safeguarding both the pump and your entire vehicle from potential electrical faults.

Moreover, this design ensures the power wires are external while grounding is internally preserved. This setup balances fuel pump performance, electrical hazard reduction, and overall vehicle safety.

Honda's design is backed by extensive research and development, particularly considering the gas tank's sensitivity. Therefore, we generally advise adhering to Honda's proven setup.

However, we recognize that alternate wiring methods might be possible, and some may have had success with different approaches. You could consider reaching out to the manufacturer of your hanger for further advice; they may provide alternative recommendations based on their specific design and testing experiences.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions or require further information. We are here to support you. Thank you for choosing Hybrid Racing products!
