  1. Start by disconnecting the MAF sensor connector. Push down on the clip and slide off to disconnect. With a pair of needle nose pliers, squeeze the wire harness clip together while also pulling it away from the housing. Move the wiring out of the way.   2. With a 10mm socket, loosen the factory hose clamp on the factory air tube. Pull the air intake tube back and slide it off of the air box lid.
    • With a 10mm socket, loosen the factory hose clamp on the factory air tube.

    • Pull the air intake tube back and slide it off of the air box lid.

  3. Unhinge the air box lid. There are six hinges total. Remove the air box lid. Remove the air filter.

    • Remove the air box lid.

    • Remove the air filter.

  4. Using a 10mm socket, remove the bolts that hold the OEM air box in place. Remove the lower air tube by squeezing the end and pulling upwards.
    • Using a 10mm socket, remove the bolts that hold the OEM air box in place.

    • Remove the lower air tube by squeezing the end and pulling upwards.

    • Remove the air box assembly.

  5. With a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the cotter pin from the top of the large cable bushing. Remove the top metal shim. With a flat tip screw driver, pry the metal insert out of the OEM rubber bushing.
    • With a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the cotter pin from the top of the large cable bushing.

    • Remove the top metal shim.

    • With a flat tip screw driver, pry the metal insert out of the OEM rubber bushing.

    • Be careful not to twist or bend the cable in any extreme position. This can permanently damage the shifter cable.

  6. Pry the remaining rubber bushing out of the cable end. Pry the remaining rubber bushing out of the cable end. Pry the remaining rubber bushing out of the cable end.
    • Pry the remaining rubber bushing out of the cable end.

  7. Install the Hybrid Racing bushing with the logo side up. Open the retaining ring and carefully slide into the groove on the bottom of the cable bushing. Be sure to slide the retaining ring around to ensure it holds the bushing in place.
    • Install the Hybrid Racing bushing with the logo side up.

    • Open the retaining ring and carefully slide into the groove on the bottom of the cable bushing.

    • Be sure to slide the retaining ring around to ensure it holds the bushing in place.

    • Install the supplied cotter pin.

  8. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the cotter pin on the small bushing. Remove the metal shim Pry the plastic insert out of the rubber bushing.
    • Using a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the cotter pin on the small bushing.

    • Remove the metal shim

    • Pry the plastic insert out of the rubber bushing.

  9. Remove the OEM bushing. Install the Hybrid Racing bushing, logo facing outward. Install the Hybrid Racing bushing, logo facing outward.
    • Remove the OEM bushing.

    • Install the Hybrid Racing bushing, logo facing outward.

  10. Open the retaining clip and carefully slide it into the groove on the backside of the cable bushing. Install the supplied cotter pin. The shifter cable bushings are installed!
    • Open the retaining clip and carefully slide it into the groove on the backside of the cable bushing.

    • Install the supplied cotter pin.

    • The shifter cable bushings are installed!

    • Re-install the items you removed, follow these steps in reverse order.

Is it possible to do this from the underside instead of removing the air box?

What happened if you lose retaining ring Or do not put it on

The retaining clip helps keep the bushing from moving without it you will have some slop in the cable. If you need a replacement feel free to reach out to us and we can get you one shipped out.
