This guide is for the AUTOMATIC ECU CORE used for the Hondata KPRO V4.
-
This DOES NOT MEAN THIS IS FOR OR WORKS WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSON. The ECU is converted to a 5spd ECU as soon as KPRO is installed. Do not use this in an Automatic transmission car - it does not work.
-
The auto PND ECU processes vehicle speed from a sensor on the automatic transmission. The K-Pro 4 has an input to process vehicle speed. When the auto PND ECU is used, the VSS signal wire must be moved to the K-Pro4 board to process.
-
If you are NOT using a PND Auto ECU core - do not continue.

-
Hondata includes two pigtails that connect directly to the KPRO daughterboard inside the ECU case.
-
One is for Analog inputs - these are typically used for external wideband sensors, EGT sensors or various other temp or pressure sensors.
-
The other is for Digital Inputs - this is where you will be able to input the VSS so the KPRO can process and understand the vehicle speed.
-
You will need to move the VSS wire on the OEM engine harness and connect it to the "VS" location on the Digital Inputs pigtail. This is typically a red wire on the Hondata harness.

-
On the K-Series ECU, there are three connectors. Location A, B, and E.
-
Connectors A and B are part of the engine wiring harness. Connector E is part of the conversion harness (in K-swapped cars.)
-
Locate connector A, pin location 18. On the factory RSX engine wire harness, this is a WHT/GRN wire.
-
Remove A18 from the ECU connector and connect it to the RED wire on the KPRO V4 input board in the "VS" location.

-
Open KManager and select the MISC tab.
-
Under the "Speed Sensor" section, you will need to change to use the Alternate Speed Input. Use a starting value of 2485 pulses per km. This will vary depending on your gear ratios and tire size.
-
Calibration - 2485
-
Pulse per - km
-
Smoothing - 10
-
Upload all changes to the ECU.
