  20. Adjust your front back throw by screwing this stud in or out. The further out you unscrew it, the shorter your shift throw will be. The more you thread it into the shifter, the longer your shift throw will be. This is your YAW sensor. Once you have the cable stud in the position that works best for you, slide the cable onto the stud and make sure that it does not interfere with or hit the YAW sensor. To reconnect the shifter cable, rotate the black collar counter-clockwise and slide the cable housing straight down into the shifter bracket until it is fully seated. The spring will pull the collar tight when you let go. Finish by pressing the white locking tab flush so the collar locks securely in place.

To fine tune the shifter’s left-right gate, move the stud to Setting 1 for a wider, more relaxed side-to-side sweep or to Setting 2 for the shortest, most precise throw (this adjustment does not affect the separate front-back throw).

    • With the engine off, row through six gears plus reverse—each gate should click cleanly.

    • If any gear resists, recheck that everything is connected correctly and that, as the cables move, they do not interfere with anything.

    • After your test drive, make any final fine tuning, verify every gear engages smoothly, adjust cable jam nuts or pivot settings as needed.

    • Reinstall the console and trim by reversing Steps 14-2 once adjustments are complete. Do one last check of the shifter and if all is good, you are finished!

    • You can remove the shift boot and leave the shifter exposed, or you can retain it and slide the boot over the rod.
