Remove the fuel pump assembly from the vehicle.

These instructions show the 02-04 RSX Type S pump assembly. This pump will work in all 01-05 Honda Civic and 02-06 RSX base and Type S models.
-
-
-
Unplug the fuel pump connectors.
-
A flat-tipped screwdriver can help separate them. Be sure not to crack the plastic.
-
-
-
You may need to remove the wires clipped in place. Once done, remove the cage cover completely.
-
-
-
Unclip and remove the pump holder. This will separate the pump and filter from the outer cage.
-
-
-
Remove the pump spacer from the factory pump.
-
If you do not do this, it will cause a loss of pressure once the device is reinstalled.
-
-
-
Reinstall the pump spacer on the Hybrid Racing fuel pump.
-
Then install the new, supplied o-ring onto the pump.
-
-
-
Install the new supplied pump filter and use the provided retaining clip to hold it in place.
-
-
-
Install the new pump into the factory cage. Ensure that everything clips back together and the O-ring is securely in place.
-
-
-
Clip the new pump assembly back into the factory cage.
-
Plug the connector back into the fuel pump.
-
-
-
Snap the new pump and lower housing back together. You can then reinstall the wiring loom and plug in the fuel return hose. Please make sure everything is secured together before installing this back into the car.
-
Make sure all connections and wiring parts are plugged back in. Follow the steps in reverse to make sure you've completed everything.

Shown in the images is the difference between the 02-04 RSX Type S pump assembles and the 05-06 RSX Type S. They are the same, but the sending unit and float are shaped slightly different.
-
The pump installation process is the same for both types.
-
Reinstall the housing into the car and check for leaks before cranking the engine.
